Why I wait with updating to 12.1

X-Plane

In the x-plane.org forum, I have been pretty much hammered about my statement "Never Play on Patch Day", to which it was replied to that allegedly patch day was some weeks ago. For some reason, the RC2 version (RC meaning Release Candidate) was deemed final (which is a separate topic to address... you don't make an incomplete test release the final release. You simply don't). In my opinion it is not - there is an ongoing issue with clouds not being rendered correctly resulting in some Minecraft like clouds. But hey, LR says it's good enough. Make of that what you want.

Anyways, here's a list that I will be updating as to why I am not updating on day 1:

- User reports immediate crash to desktop after updating to 12.1 (Link)
- Xplane 12 Crash- Losing Display & Restarting Computer (Link)
- 12.1 Considerable loss of FPS (issue reported long before "patch day", not fixed for some in "final release") (Link)
- 12.1 RC2 Unusable (Link)
- Permanent crash with 12.1 (Link)
- Beautiful Turquoise Water around MBPV Gone in 12.1? (Link)
- XP12.1 Permanent CTD (on a Mac, log shows an issue with the compilation of a shader) (Link)

But I am the one apparently not being in full posession of my faculties when saying that naming a release candidate which came out weeks ago, a final release, is a bad thing.
